I’ve been using VirtualPBX for a little over a year. It works very well, although their online interface seems antiquated. They finally have online billing…previously zipped statements were sent. On a positive note, their customer service has been amazing. Recommended.

We've had very good luck with Phone.com.

I'm pretty sure they offer international numbers.

We use Trixbox which is based on Asterisk and is probably the same technology running the commercial PBX services. It can be installed on a cheap or used desktop and put in your home office (broadband required). You then buy the Linksys SIP phones for each location. Once setup, and everyone connected, we can call each other using Internal extensions and do not incur any usage or long distance charges. We still pay for outgoing calls to landlines outside of our internal extensions.

If you can follow the installation guides on the internet, you should have no problems installing it. You can always pay an IT guy a few hours to install it for you.

We have Ring Central in California. And i have people that have worked in Florida, & Pennsylvania and it works great. Not too many problems or outages. I think the customer service could step up a bit but I am happy with this service. If you have questions let me know as I have had this service for a few years.

NoHasslePBX.com is a quality service and has competitive pricing on their VoIP systems. You could send a VoIP phone to your UK guy. The president of the company takes his VoIP phone to the UK when he travles there and says it works great. I don’t see any reason you should have to risk quality.
