LessConf Interview: Mike McDerment, Freshbooks

October 20th, 2009 (11:00am) Nancy Nally 4 Comments

Mike McDerment is the co-founder and CEO of Freshbooks. I caught up with him at the recent LessConf event in Jacksonville, Fla, to chat about Freshbooks’ focus, whether you can trust web apps with your data, and working with family members.

Do you work with family members? How does it work out for you?

  • This was a really interesting interview, although I do have to mention a little constructive criticism: I would suggest doing a little work on interviewing skills, it felt a little bit high school level… definitely interesting but smooth out the bumps love!

    • I’m a writer by trade and have done only a little recorded work until now. Of course my skills need work and will improve with practice and by paying attention to my mistakes.

But that aside, I thought Mike McDerment had some really interesting things to say (both during and after the recording). He was well-received by the audience at LessConf as well.

  • Great interview, Nancy! Thanks for taking some time out of your schedule at LessConf to speak with Mike. Hope you’re a little less skeptic about working on the cloud now (or thinking about it, at least! ; )). Hope you had an awesome time at the conference, too.
