Evernote Releases BlackBerry App

May 11th, 2009 (9:24am) Simon Mackie 6 Comments

logoEvernote, the multi-platform note-taking app that we’ve covered many times previously, today announced the release of a free BlackBerry app, Evernote for BlackBerry, now available from BlackBerry App World.

The new app is available to all Evernote users and is compatible with recent BlackBerry models running  OS 4.6 and later (including Bold, Storm and Curve). It has camera support and audio recording for note-taking on the go.

Of course, previously you could always use the web browser on your BlackBerry to access the Evernote web site, but a dedicated client adds more functionality and should please the many users who have been asking for a dedicated app.

Have you tried Evernote for BlackBerry? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

  • Just tried to search for it in the BB App Store, and I get ‘no results found’. (Perhaps it’s a Canada thing…)

  • Any other OSs Evernote needs to deliver an app for *before* they get to the Symbian OS? Nokia phone owners ain’t feelin’ no love, from Evernote. Thank heavens for Evernote’s mobile web site. . .

  • Agreed with @ElMarko. Symbian is analogous to Windows in the Desktop market: the majority of the worlds phones run on it, but it gets no love. (partly due to ridiculous Symbian signing and stuff… you thought the iTunes Appstore was bad).

  • If you get “no results found,” it’s because the app is not compatible with your BlackBerry. I have a Curve, but it’s an 8310. This only works with the following:

    * BlackBerry Bold
    * BlackBerry Curve 8900 series
    * BlackBerry Storm

  • If you have the latest Blackberry don’t hesitate to get this. I used to only use Evernote to capture interesting websites, not any more, this is now my daily note taker.

    Forget the moleskine use Evernote.

    Whether you want to make a text note, voice note, picture note (using the camera on the blackberry) or upload a file, it is all very simple.

    Using GTD – do your mind dump in one programme, from you laptop and now your blackberry.

    I can’t recommend this enough.
