I don&#039;t think the issue is free vs pay, but rather risk. I Want Sandy, for example, was a one person shop. That&#039;s ALWAYS a risk and something you should know going in. Only one person has to decide to do something different and poof, service gone. 

I also think you&#039;re mistaken on the local = more reliable equation. For you, being technical, it might be. But for many people they would not know to have a Subversion server backed up, on RAID, etc. 

At the end of the day, the cloud doesn&#039;t let business owner wash their hands of thinking about service outages, data security, reliability and disaster recovery. A cloud service is just one more option, but the planning still has to be done.</description>
