Fumpr: Easy Image Hosting

July 22nd, 2008 (2:00pm) Mike Gunderloy 2 Comments

Getting images on the web can be a bit of a nuisance. For instance, if you’re using Flickr for your image hosting, you need to upload, find the URL for the size you want to display, and worry about using the proper attributed link. Fumpr aims to short-circuit this process with the world’s simplest free image hosting. Browse to an image, click “Fump!,” and you’ll see URLs to display, download, or embed the result. No logins, no terms, no nothing.

Does it work? Sure – the image in this post is Fumpr-hosted. You give up amenities like automatic resizing when you go for this streamlined version, but in return you get super-fast posting and a way to send URLs to people instead of huge images. It’s a fair tradeoff.
