A Free Multi-User Time Tracker

There are a lot of solutions out there for tracking your work time on the web. I did some hunting around recently, and typical pricing for multi-user accounts was in the $20 or more per month range. If that’s too rich for your blood, you might want to take a look at new entrant TrackMyPeople – who are free while in beta (and possibly afterwards; they haven’t committed one way or the other yet).
TrackMyPeople offers direct time entry, online timers, or time-entry widgets for Windows or Linux (an OS X widget is promised soon). It’s especially strong in reporting, offering multiple views of your cumulated time over various time periods, including fancy graphs. There are a few rough edges in the current beta, but nothing that makes it unusable.

our company just took a few of these online time entry sites for a spin. we ended up picking one called clicktime.com because it was easy and had some great reports. we also had a trial of clockbeat which was free like trackmypeople.com, but was just too basic (no invoicing, etc).
Katherine, I’m moving my organization to clicktime.com too. I’ve been using the demo for the past few weeks and I find that it strikes just the right balance between ease of use and power features we need.
I’m using TrackMyPeople for my personal need and 1 freelancer who works for me. The Linux applet is a great addon, and the webinterface looks sweet. I will keep on using it in the future. They are continuously improving the service.
