Find your Missing Manuals

June 6th, 2008 (8:00am) Mike Gunderloy 1 Comment

If you’re like most of us, you don’t even read the manuals that come with your gear. Laptops, digital cameras, wireless routers, phones…we get through just enough to get started, and then promise ourselves that we’ll read later after playing with the new toy. Then, six months from now when we actually need one of the more obscure features, the manual is nowhere to be found.

If that sounds familiar, you should bookmark SafeManuals.com. They have copies of something over 800,000 user manuals online, covering the range from 3Com to Zyxel. You can search by model number or drill down starting with the manufacturer name (I’ve found going via manufacturer to be more reliable than their search, though). You can preview online and then download the entire manual as a PDF. They’ve saved me from tech support hassles more than once.
