Recently tried living the web worker dream in a remote spot in northern Brazil. The connection was good most of the time, and the lifestyle far outweighed any occasional technical glitches.

This site is useful http://www.speedtest.net/ for people looking for places to go and connect worldwide ..

I agree with Charles. Hotel speeds are brutal for the most part in the USA, but not bad at all in the UK and Europe.

Other issues..Not enough power outlets in a hotel room, or none near the bed that you can easily access.

The biggest issue as of late is really slow hotel Internet connectivity in the states ..

Only in the last year have I run into the neutered networks issues 100 kb/s wired & 160 -320 kb/s wifi ...

Also simply no internet connection at all ... Hotels advertise wifi but just not there . The wifi shows up but no connection behind it frustrating bit is staff normally has no clue ...

I have only bumped into this in the states & mostly in higher end accommodation ...

Tends to be the first thing I ask about when booking hotels for photo shoots .... With out a confirmed decent speed test I don't book a hotel any more ..
