Remote Video Conferencing + Whiteboard = PalBee

One of the benefits of close proximity to your colleagues is face to face meetings to draft out an idea on a whiteboard. PalBee is a new web application that allows you to do this online. Similar to Twiddla, but PalBee adds video conferencing.
The South Korea based company makes it possible to connect up to nine of your co-workers and draw notes on PowerPoint presentations, videos, and photos. You can text chat as well. The PalBee window features a video window with your participants in the upper left, the main content (PowerPoint or video) in the middle, and drawing tools on the right hand side. A screenshot is available below.

PalBee can be exceptionally useful tool for distributed teams who need to collaborate around a PowerPoint presentation or other online media. Chats and videos can be archived for future use. The media file is kept on PalBee’s servers and in turn makes PalBee into a media-sharing site, with presentations available for future use.
Hopefully PalBee will build in the capability to access more media types inside its service such as Microsoft Office documents, images, and other visual media.
PalBee is currently free and available at their website.

[...] Online collaboration service PalBee integrates video conferencing and whiteboard sharing so you can meet up with co-workers over the internet. PalBee supports one free hour at a time for up to five collaborators, and it can record the session as its happening for later review—the results of which can be embedded on any web page (similar to the video above). Naturally, since PalBee is web-based, it works on all platforms as long as you’ve got a webcam. PalBee is currently completely free to use, though pay plans are likely to emerge. Not a bad service if it meets your needs. If you do need to share Microsoft Office documents, images, and other visual media, or just need some desktop sharing, please look into my companies offering of QuickVisuals WebConferencing.
I’d be glad to go through the benefits with anyone, or just visit http://www.ganconference.com

Hi, I’m Matthew from the PalBee team. Thanks for mentioning us in your blog! We think PalBee is a good tool to use in the workplace, and we hope that it gains more popularity among business users.
It may be interesting for your readers to know that we are working on giving PalBee a facelift soon, updating the new visual layout and also including some new features in both the web site and the PalBee application itself. Keep an eye on us!
