Simple Spark Catalogs Web 2.0

April 23rd, 2008 (8:00am) Mike Gunderloy 2 Comments

ScreenshotThink we’ve reviewed a lot of web applications here at WWD? Well, we’ve got nothing on Simple Spark, whose easy-to-use catalog of the web is at over 8500 applications and counting. Each application is sorted by category and subcategory, and displayed with a brief screenshot and description. Users can also add reviews and ratings, and developers (or anyone else) can contribute additional information like feature lists. All info is reviewed before being displayed, so as to keep spamming down.

In addition to using Simple Spark to find useful applications (this morning I turned up a new-to-me API reference site, gotAPI, and an online package tracker, TrackThePack) you can also register and use the site as your own personal Web 2.0 launchpad. After finding an application, one click adds it to your “My Apps” panel for easy future access. All in all, a great resource for finding new ways to move your life into the cloud.
