[...] Need to make all-caps text a little less shout-y? Don’t feel like going through a ream of lines and fixing all the capitalization? TextOpus, a free text-filtering web app, is a great place to start. Paste in problematic text and choose from a wealth of options, from line adders to a decent, simple “Clean Text” option to a very handy “Strip tags” that takes the HTML and forum code out of a blurb. For those who know what to do with them, there’s also options to hash, hexadecimal, and encrypt text. Next time you’re staring at a wealth of un-printable babble, try TextOpus before diving in with your mouse and backspace key. TextOpus [via Web Worker Daily] [...]

Problem is, from the example box on the website, it simply doesn't seem to work very well. I've used Apimac Clean Text, and it's not bad. But why such programs can't be a couple of steps more intelligent, I don't know. How hard can it be to figure out what a block of text "should" look like, based on the probabilities?

I have been hoping Google Docs would include more text manipulation features. Also it needs an option where I can 'paste as text.'

I'm trying to work in the clouds and I can definitely use this web based text tool.

Thanks
