SugarSync Cuts Prices

Multiple computer and online synchronization utility Sugarsync has been getting good reviews, here and elsewhere. Part of the initial attraction was a 50% discount on pricing for users who signed up quickly. Now the company has announced that those lower rates are permanent.
Pricing is on a sliding scale, from $2.49 per month or $24.99 per year for 10GB, up to $24.99 per month or $249.99 per year for 250GB of online storage. And those early users? Don’t feel too sorry for them; they’re getting additional discounts for their first year. You can still check out the service for 45 days for free.

I do not understand what is the fuss about SugarSync when FolderShare does exactly the same thing for free and for unlimited online storage!

Zia, FolderShare requires the corresponding PCs (and PCs *only*) to be online.
This is a nice article about sync definition (at least, what sync should be): What is Sync.

I’ve been using SugarSync and I love it. FolderShare is OK, but it can only sync files up to 2 GBs in size.

Can SugarSync or FolderShare be used to synch my Thunderbird email? Ideally, I’d like to have my desktop email be synched with my laptop. I use Thunderbird on both.

Try out Syncplicity, http://www.syncplicity.com. It syncs and stores, but also works with web 2.0 applications such as google docs and facebook.
