Lefora: Free Forums, Well Done

There are lots of ways to facilitate group discussions on the web. We have multi-person video services, wikis, project management tools, any number of social networks, and even good old-fashioned email. But sometimes, the sweet spot is a forum. Anyone who has tried to set up a simple forum, though, knows that most software to handle this is a big nuisance to configure. Lefora goes a long way to change this by offering free, hosted forums with an attractive look and a good feature set.
It took me less than five minutes to set up a new forum on their site. Features include membership and moderation, embedded images and videos, gravatar support, spam-blocking, member voting, threaded comments, customizable look and feel, and search, among other things. The next time your work leads you into the need for a quick ad-hoc discussion site, they’re well worth a look.

I like seeing this shift to simplicity in handling group discussion.
Has anyone tried Convos? RIA for managing online groups that looks pretty promising.
