crowdSPRING Offers $5000 Design Prize

March 15th, 2008 (2:00pm) Mike Gunderloy 2 Comments

ScreenshotIf you’re a web designer with time on your hands, you might want to take a look at crowdSPRING’s home page. They’re getting ready to launch a marketplace to put creative designers together with buyers, with the premise that they’ll host portfolios, put out jobs soliciting work, and put the two together. As a demonstration of how it all works, they’ve put a $5000 contract out there to get themselves a new homepage.

The result is a sort of cross of job site with crowdsourcing page. $5000 is a nice carrot, but remember, you’re competing with (and can view the designs of) everyone else who’s interested. On the other hand, only about 70 designs have been submitted so far, so the odds aren’t too bad if you don’t mind putting in a few hours of work on spec.

Hi guys,

the same idea that Criggle (www.criggle.com) came up with.

Quite interesting to see how they try to attract croudsourcing.

Hey,

GeniusRocket (http://www.geniusrocket.com) has been doing the same thing for a few months now. They do all kinds of creative work though, logos to viral videos and have managed to get a nice list clients.

Really neat way to crowdsource.
