Intervals Combines Time and Task Management

March 13th, 2008 (2:00pm) Mike Gunderloy 1 Comment

ScreenshotIntervals is another entrant in the crowded online project management field (they’ve actually been around longer than many in this niche). They’ve tried to add comprehensive features for small creative companies without going overboard – you won’t find Gantt charts and resource allocation, for example. What you will find is an easy-to-use task management system geared to multiple clients and multiple employees, with time-tracking handled by timers right on the web page.

Intervals is especially strong in reporting. They have a wide variety of attractive graphs to help you tell where money is coming from and going to, and they can handle everything from timesheets to invoicing from the same database. They also offer document storage. You can try them out for free (1 user, 1 project, no document storage); business plans start at $20 per month.

Less is good. That seems to be our direction these days. Anything would be simple compared with MS Project. I recently stumbled upon a GTD application that is the epitome of simplicity, but is still so powerful, and goes with me everywhere. It’s not project management, but if you are interested in GTD, take a look at my most recent post at http://johnkendrick.wordpress.com.
