Sidebar for Google Docs – That’s what you’ll get if you install gDocsBar (at least if you’re running Firefox). Reboot your browser, and you get a nice tabbed sidebar that shows what you have stored in Google Documents, offers one-click access to your existing documents, and hooks into Google’s search features (useful if you have a whole lot of documents).
gDocsBar also offers drag-and-drop file uploading, with SSL and Firefox Password Manager credential management. Alas, it’s not yet compatible with Firefox 3, but works well in Firefox 2.
Control Your Idle – While you’re customizing your Google services, you might take a look at gAlwaysIdle. With most instant messenger clients, you can choose whether your status should be idle or available – this little download lets you do the same for Gtalk. It requires Windows XP or Vista, though, as it’s a client-side application.
Smartphone Homepage – If you’re not happy with the defaults in your phone’s browser, you might take a look at FROG. They offer icon-based homepages sized for the tiny screen, with links to web sites that work well in mobile browsers. You can also customize the styles and links, so you’re not stuck with their choices.
