Open Thread – Holiday Shopping for Web Workers

This is “Black Friday” in the States – the traditional day of post-Thanksgiving mall deal madness that opens the Christmas shopping season. And according to The Conference Board, consumers are in “a festive mood” for this holiday season, planning to drop an average of nearly five hundred dollars each on their gift-giving this year.
Here at WWD, we’ve got families and friends to shop for, but inevitably our thoughts turn to the web workers in our lives as well. Do they need a new comfy chair? Artwork for the home office walls? A more ergonomic headset? The latest downloadable music subscription? Here’s your chance to help us play Santa: if you’re giving, how are you planning to spend your holiday dollars on the family web worker? And if you’re receiving, what are you secretly (or not so secretly) hoping to get in your stocking this year?

A bigger house would be nice… but I’d settle for a new desk for the home office and a new monitor. :)
I’m hoping for an Apple TV or perhaps a new Airport Extreme Gigabit edition. Not very productive, but a web worker has to take a break sometimes, right?
A wireless telephone headset, an iPod Touch, and a fireproof safe.
I’m holding out for a 30″ Dell widescreen monitor, but I think it’s a lost cause :(
