My Old Boss Just Used a Trash Can - EmployeeSuggestionBox is a hosted service designed to unlock creativity and feedback from all levels of large organizations. They give you tools to manage suggestions, opinion polls, and brainstorming, and then to turn promising ideas into projects.
Another Alternative for Web Conferences - We recently looked at a bunch of web conferencing services, but RHUB has a different approach: buy one of their appliances and you can do your own web conference hosting without paying anyone. Might be worth it if you’ve got good bandwidth and do plenty of conferencing.
But it’s Not Even Thanksgiving Yet - MakeBeliever is a new service that lets you buy a video message from Santa. They use text-to-speech-and-lip-sync technology to produce realistic Flash movies to encourage (or, I suppose, threaten) your kids. One wonders whether there’s a future for this technology in other “intelligent agent” applications.
Another Small Step for AI - Ikordo won’t be writing you any sonnets, but if you need to schedule a meeting, it’ll do the job. Give it a target time and a list of attendees, and it uses email to negotiate on your behalf, sending confirmations and even reminders when everyone is in agreement.
There Are Things Worse Than Being in Pajamas All Day - For anyone who thinks working at home with kids is all about cute smiles and slacking off to play patticake, take a look at Aliza Sherman’s “I Survived Projectile Vomiting.” We’ve presented our own set of tips on managing kids in the home office in the past.
