Share How You Web Work with WWD Readers

October 18th, 2007 (5:38am) Anne Zelenka 8 Comments

Do you use the web to succeed at work in ways you couldn’t before? Then we want to hear from you. We’re introducing a new feature, From the Field, about how real-life web workers work, and we invite you to participate.

You don’t have to work from home or from a wifi café to qualify, because web workers come in all sorts of guises: cubicle commandos, telecommuters, neo-bedouins, virtual entrepreneurs, and more.

To submit a web worker field report:

  • Type up your answers to the questions below
  • Email to tips@webworkerdaily.com
  • Include a (small) photo of yourself, if you like
  • Include a link to your own blog or website if you want so people can find you

We’ll choose the most interesting ones and run one a week. We may edit submissions for conciseness and grammatical correctness before publishing.

The field report questions

1. Describe your job/career/business.

2. How has the web changed your working life?

3. Describe your working situation: office, cubicle, home, cafe… and how you make it work for you.

4. What are the key web and desktop tools you use?

5. Describe your productivity system (to do list, goal setting, reminders, etc.)

6. Share your top tip for success as a web worker: a productivity suggestion, a tool recommendation, or a piece of career advice, for example.

Don’t leave your field reports here… but if you have any questions, ask in the comments.
