On the topic of keyboard shortcuts, I would not be able to live if they took away the CTRL+Tab and CTRL+SHIFT+Tab shortcuts for navigating between shortcuts. By far I use this and CTRL+T more than any other shortcuts in Firefox.

[...] WebWorkerDaily recommends a little freeware app called FireTune. It’s not an extension - you run it on your computer while Firefox is closed, and it automatically tweaks it for speed, according to whether you have a fast machine and connection, a slow machine and connection, or one of the combinations in between.
I was going to check this out, but now that I've read the comments I think I'll wait! I have had good luck and no issues with FasterFox - so I think I'll stay with that!

I've downloaded firetune.exe from softpedia, download.com, and the totalidea website all with the same result: when I ran the installer, on the step immediately following selecting a target folder for the installation (I did all defaults), I got a message asking me to "insert disk # 2" refusing to proceed unless I found this "disk" which the installer told me had an extension of "firetune.2". Needless to say I have no idea what this means and have found no reports of this error elsewhere. Very confusing! I have admin rights etc on my XP machine and never have had any trouble installing anything in the past.

The problem was only temporary. It went away on its own. Good thing. Cuz I DIDN'T KNOW how to fix it.

Running it works

However it has changed my mouse pointer to look like heavier and fatter and get a shade next to it. How do I get rid of that???? I'm running Vista.
