* upgrades ... I was thinking that existing users were left out ... but that is not the case. If you have premium Newsgator account the upgrade is free. This should mean that if you bought it within the past year.

* I bought mine about 6 months ago and the upgrade was seamless ... upgraded Mars Edit as well.

Ok, I think I must be missing something. I downloaded the zipfile and it opened to reveal version 2.1.1. What's the deal with that?!

Yeah, just tried it... is a really good RSS reader, but I will keep using "NewsLife", I think is the best for my needs.

@Leo - It's faster, slicked and lets me for example integrate iCal, Growl, etc. Google reader isn't that fast when you pass the 300+ feed mark - which I have to do due to the fact I have to stay informed to write articles etc. Whatever I say now just isn't good enough - you have to try it! :)

How is this more useful than Google Reader? Just curious, because the only thing I do with my feeds is read them, and GR handles that perfectly.

Just another reason to go BACK to the MAC! I've been looking for years for a good-enough excuse to override the huge price differential. With the blogosphere becoming an ever more essential part not just of life but of one's career (including that of, gasp! the NON Web worker!!) this is a biggie.

Thanks much for the great post. Feeds and readers are here to stay, and with even a lot of bloggers still not understanding these concepts, we need all the info out there we can get.
