Corralling the office supplies is a must. I tend to collect such things, especially the freebies from trade shows of years past. An additional productivity item for me is the strategic-sweep of my office, ie what the hell IS that pile over there doing, why do I have THAT stack on the floor ? Inevitably, they aren't pulling their weight in precious space, and can be buried in a drawer to possibly get tossed at the next strategic sweep.

My laptop stand? A roll of packing tape - it just happens to be the perfect height to align the two screens (yes I'm using two screens, and organise my windows in a similar (but different) way)

...more than who? More than anyone else? More than (effective) knowledge workers?

What are the demographics that make up web workers? Are they just web-geeks? Are they really any different from any other group who use the web or similar tools to do their jobs?

It would all make for an interesting empirical study.
