Bluetooth Headset Without the Ready for Warp Speed Look: Koss Cobalt

Koss Cobalt headphonesWant a wireless headset but not ready to join the crew of the Starship Enterprise? Koss Cobalt Bluetooth headphones avoid that ready for warp speed look you get with so many wireless headsets. They offer a behind-the-head design, so I’d argue with the New York Times’ claim that they give you a last-century look. In the last century, wired over-the-head and earbud-style headphones ruled. The real reason to choose behind the head is for comfort during long wearing sessions when you want stereo sound.

The Cobalt set has a few nice features: a USB dongle for plugging into your computer as well as a connector for MP3 players and phones, simultaneous pairing with phone and MP3 player, and a button to answer the phone.

Wired or not, what style headset do you prefer for your cell phone, VoIP calls on your PC, for music listening? I love my over-the-head foldable USB Plantronics DSP-400 headset for Skype calls and podcast recording, but it wouldn’t be comfortable for all-day wear.
