How expert are you at finding what you need on the web? The Small Business Hub has 12 Quick Tips to Search Google Like An Expert, including this one:

4. Similar Words and Synonyms: Let’s say you are want to include a word in your search, but want to include results that contain similar words or synonyms. To do this, use the “~” in front of the word.

Example: “internet marketing” ~professional

    Normally, I’m not a big fan of “A-list bloggers” using >40% of the posts to link to other “interesting” (as in “I might be get payed to blog this”) stuff, but this one seems to be an exception.

    I want to make it clear that the “>40%” issue above does not apply to Web Worker Daily, from my point of view.

  • Michael – thanks. We are trying to find the right balance between doing short posts showing readers something interesting and writing longer posts with extensive original content. I’m glad this was helpful–I saw it this morning and thought, “I could really use an upgrade to my search skills, maybe some of our readers might need that too.”

  • Nice link! Let me suggest also http://www.crossengine.com , a convenient search dashboard from where you can specifically query multiple Google services.
