I wanted to have Google reader too, but gave up this idea after hearing some opinions that when with this reader users get the strangers' accounts. I do hope that Google will obviate this problem soon.

Attention on Google Reader

So I heard Google Reader has a trends feature, the basic premise is that it is recording the feeds I pay attention to and letting me know about it, what it isn’t doing is actioning on that, it will let me decide that.

I find Google Reader a lot faster than Bloglines, but it doesn't compare to terminal window news readers of old. Jadon, you're right that there's no fast or convenient way to quickly follow links from an article. I don't click through on everything I'm interested in because I just want to get through the news, not get lost following links that are hard to get to from the keyboard.

Maybe we'll see better a/v integration in 2007 given GooTube.

I somewhat miss the speed at which I could read newsgroups using something like 'trn'. I think Google Reader needs to provide the ability quickly follow links and trackbacks within each blog entry without losing context.

Handling of audio and video feed information would also be helpful. If there weren't so many legal hurdles, it would be really tool if they automatically imported short A/V clips into YouTube and presented those in Reader.
