We have some exciting news. WebWorkerDaily is getting a major refresh and we are adding two new writers. Chris Gilmer, a well known blogger has already started writing for WWD, and has already posted some excellent stuff. Today, we are announcing the addition of a new lead writer for the site, Anne Zelenka. For those of you who don’t know who Anne is, check out her most excellent blog, Anne 2.0. She is a web technologist, blogger, and industry analyst who lives and works in Denver, Colorado. She is so living the WWD life. She is going to be a great addition to the site, and with her fresh insights, and sharp observations, she is going to help WWD even better. I know I am a fan, and my bet is all of you are going to love her writings. Welcome Anne!
And as Steve Jobs says, one more thing: by popular demand, we have added forums to Web Worker Daily. Check them out and let us know what other features we should add to the site.

Hi Om and Crew,
I think the forums are a wonderful idea for this type of website. I noticed a couple of things about them though. The layout of the forum pages seemed to be a little quirky for me. I tested it on my apple using firefox 2.0 and safari 2.0.4. In the opening main page of the forum, the sidebar that contains the sponsors, subscribe, pages, recent posts, and recent comments headers shows up down below the forum in the middle of the content area as opposed to at the right side. Also, sometimes with the forum, the content area widens past the width of the header and footer. The masthead information does not seem to be updated on all pages as well. Just little, non invasive things about the design that I wasn’t sure if you were aware of.
Great content and great website overall,
Ryan

Ryan,
thanks for the feedback. we are in the process of fixing it and hopefully it should be done right away.
sorry about the broken design elements.

[...] I suggested to Shelley that the reason her semantic web post didn’t appear on techmeme was because of blog churn (referring to her refactoring of her blogging across various sites) and not because of gender discrimination; she pointed out how I was wrong, and I stand corrected. But I think the concept of blog churn is still important: it’s hard work to figure out how to organize our blogging. Do we blog at one site or many, with or without other people, for ourselves or for other organizations? How do we divide up the various topics we want to write about across blogs? And what does that do to the reputation and rank we’ve built up? This is of more than theoretical interest to me right now, as I have just joined Om Malik’s Web Worker Daily as lead writer. [...]

Not to disrespect the site, which has great stuff, but often the forums are a better source of information than the site itself. Sometimes it’s a case where someone perfectlysolves a problem or suggests a perfect product that wouldn’t normally be part of the content of the site. Hive Wisdom.

[...] What a strange coincidence. Really though, I doubt very much that anyone at WWD noticed my post yesterday about their blog. There must have been be a subtle, collective consensus that WWD so far sucks which was fully realized yesterday. [...]

With no (well, very little…) disrespect to Om and Anne, allow me to share that “WebWorker Daily” in my demented(?) mind immediatly morphed into SexWorker Daily.
That, Mr. Om Malik, would make you some REAL money.

[...] Don’t think I’ll ever really grasp the at-all-costs importance placed on headcount growth in what essentially is a relationship and authority business, but fortunately I don’t have to, as we – James and I – run the show these days. In other words, we add only the best fits and only at the right time. First it was Cote, and now it’s Anne (whom you might have seen in Om Malik’s WebWorkerDaily). [...]
